This is a detail shot of the western edge of the McEvoy Olive ranch in West Marin, about ten minutes from our house. Once a year, Northern California is rewarded with a month of green rolling hills and warm days. At this time, it looks like Ireland and most of the Happy Cows commercials are filmed for the California cheese campaigns. In this set, I was looking for patterns, texture and framing at dusk. For all the budding photographers out there, I would recommend Bryan Peterson's Books, Learning to See Creatively and Beyond Portraiture. Both are short reads with great example photos.
