Friday Night Lights

High School Football in California (a blue state) doesn't take on the same proportions as it does in Texas (a red State), but we also play under the lights every Friday night. Here are some shots of the Casa Grande Gauchos (one of Petaluma's two high school teams) defeating the Healdsburg Grey hounds 20-19. San Francisco - As the City Sleeps

Returning from the SF Airport on Monday night, I noticed it was an unusually clear and cold one so I stopped at some of my favorite spots in the city to take these wild night time shots (exposures from 2 seconds to 14 seconds). The tripod, ballhead and 300mm lens are earning their keep. Who knew there was this much color at night? I don't need no stinkin' sunshine. Blue Angels and Fleetweek in San Francisco

My cousin Phil and I started out in Sausalito and then set up on a grassy knoll next to the beach at Crissy Field in San Francisco to get most of these shots. Speed, sound and exhilaration -- all good recruiting tools for the Navy. Click the title, Blue Angels and Fleetweek in San Francisco, here or above to see the rest of this photo gallery.

Boeing Flight Museum

I was in orbit when Susie and I visited the Boeing Flight Museum in Seattle. We saw many retired planes including the Kennedy Administration Air Force One, a Concorde and a Blue Angels F16. Very Cool. Click the title, Boeing Flight Museum , here or above to see the rest of this photo gallery.

Seattle Harbor at Dusk

While Susie was napping, I hoofed it down to Pike St. Market to watch the sunsest and to take some long exposure shots with my 80-400mm lens mounted on the tripod. Look closely at this photo – a three second exposure taken when it was very dark. That's Mt. Raineer in the background, 60 miles to the south of the arch atop of the Seahawks' new stadium, Qwest Field.
